Just wondering if anyone has experience with Math 55. For someone with an average math background (more humanities-inclined, A in Math 1A), how difficult would it be to take Math 55 without already finishing Math 1B?

(To add some perspective, I'm thinking of taking Math 1B and Math 55 simultaneously.)

Math 1B has no overlap whatsoever with Math 55.
The closest thing to Math 55 you’ve experienced in your life would probably be high school geometry. Did you feel comfortable proving that one triangle is congruent to another triangle? If so, you should be comfortable with Math 55.
