Math Accomplishment

All else equal (including similar math accomplishments after sophomore year), which is more appealing to colleges, a student who qualified for AIME in freshman and sophomore year, or a student who didn’t qualify for AIME in freshman year but qualified for USAJMO senior year?

You can only qualify for JMO in 9th and 10th grades. So, I am assuming that you mean USAMO qualification in senior year.

USAMO is a significantly greater accomplishment than 2x AIME. However, if it is senior year, college admissions decisions would already have been largely made by the time USAMO qualification is announced.

Sorry, I meant USAJMO qualification in sophomore year only as compared to AIME qual in freshman and sophomore year.

JMO in 10th is worth much more than 2x AIME in 9th and 10th. It’s not even close.
