I've taken the AP Tests for AP Calculus(5) and AP Chemistry(4). I know I still have to take the placement exams, but I have some questions.

Will I be fine on these placement exams? Do I have to study for them?

I've taken the AP Tests for AP Calculus(5) and AP Chemistry(4). I know I still have to take the placement exams, but I have some questions.

Will I be fine on these placement exams? Do I have to study for them?

You’re definitely fine.
The only problem I have is with chemistry, I suck at chemistry, but I’m going into Engineering so I have to take it.
How should I prepare for chemistry?

That’s what I want to know^

Take the earliest orientation date, registering for the courses and times you want is still infinitely more important to these placement exams. If you have AP credit, take a hour or two before going to refresh some elementary concepts and calculations and you should place out of CHEM 130 without a problem. If not, find as many basic chemistry review and practice materials and study partners as you can and work your butt off in your free time these next two months to save yourself a whole semester of general chemistry and lab.

If you took BC Calc and got a 5, the math won’t be a problem. Even if you took AB… hell, if you took pre calc you should be good. Don’t worry about the math.

With Chem, if you do well enough you can take Orgo right away in stead of Chem (Orgo is the next step up from Chem). All engineers have to take Chem, but not all of them have to take Orgo. No matter what, you have to take something at the university. So even if you do well enough on the Chem exam to test into Orgo, but don’t have to take Orgo for your major, you still have to take one of them.

The Chem exam isn’t hard. I tested out of Chem 130 and hardn’t taken any Chem since 10th grade. I still took Chem 130/126/125 though because I don’t need Orgo and Orgo is much harder.

I’m going to be out of country from june 14th to August 3rd. But I guess doing the june 6 or whatever comes before 14th orientation would be better in order to get my classes down fast?

Sooo, let me see if I have this right… everyone, regardless of major, has to take chem?

I’m not sure. Engineering has to for sure, and some other majors.
Check your e-mail, open the orientation thing, then go check on the site they link you to, it all explains it there.

Every engineering major does, yes.

If you mean the chem placement exam? Yeah, EVERYONE has to take that. But if you are in some joke major in LSA it won’t really matter.

Thankfully Math and Economics are joke majors, so I won’t have to take chem :p

Yeah I will have to take Orgo right away, am I’m doing Pre-Med. I will probably review some simple stuff but if you said it’s easy, then I won’t really worry about it.

As of right now I’m considering English or Anthropology… anyone know if I’ll need chem?

Infinit… woo now. I only said some.

Much props to math and econ

LSA students who are Ross pre-admits haven’t had to take a chem placement exam, but could if they wanted to.
