Math and Physics

Okay friends, I've got 2 questions (n i'm sitting for the tests in oct)
1. Do I need to give Math Level 1 & 2 as well? Coz to compete a 2400, I need to give 3 tests, and I have taken Chemistry at SL (IB). If yes, then is 1 and a half years of IB MATH HL + KAPLAN MATH LEVEL 2 ENOUGH?
2. What book should I use for Physics. I have finished reading Barron's, and although many call it thorough, I see many concepts in PR that are missing in Barron's. AMM... So I have these 2 books NOW, and I think i'm gonna finish PR this week. I will obviously give the tests in both books, but which I should I use more regularly?

For physics, it really helps if you’ve taken the AP Physics B exam. If you have, you don’t even need to study, just work some practice tests. If not, read through the Princeton Review and focus on basic conceptual understanding. Barron’s has a lot of details, but some of it is never even tested, so just briefly skim it.

Hey thanks a lot! BTW, I’m an IB student, so I’ve covered most of the AP Physics B syllabus in my IB HL Physics class… But I actually did the opposite of what you’ve suggested. I studied from Barron’s, then bought PR… I’ve completed 50% of it in a week… I’ll complete it soon. Then it’ll be down to the tests, and the main issue is-ARE THE TESTS IN THESE 2 BOOKS ANYWHERE NEAR TO THE REAL ONES??? Which scoring chart should I use???

Make sure you take the ones that the College Board provides. Those are the only real ones, and the only ones you should use. Use their scoring charts too.

^CB has only released one Physics exam. And I’d say it’s easier than the real one I took in June 2010.

Hey, where can I find the CB tests?

CB has released Official Study Guides for the SAT II’s like they did for the SAT. Just search for “official subject test study guide” on Amazon or Google.

You say “to compete with 2400.” The 2400 number only refers to the SATI. For subject tests, each score is counted on its own, and almost no schools require or even suggest three tests.

@314159265- Thanks a lot!

@veryindecisive- It’s a magical figure that would look good on my application, nothing more…

and I meant to complete a 2400, sorry…
