Math and science path?

Hi everyone. I recently sat down and tried to plan out my math and science path. I'm thinking...

9th grade: physical science (required) and algebra 2/trig

10th grade: ap statistics and honors chemistry

11th grade: honors precalc and ap biology

12th grade: ap calc, ap chemistry, and ap physics.

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing so any advice or suggestions would help a lot! Thanks.

Science looks good but I would change math.
9: algebra 2/trig
10: pre calc honors
11: ap calc
12: ap stats

The first three go in the sequence in which would be most helpful, while AP Stats is a completely different math. Also, it’s usually easier for people, so it would be a bit of a break for you senior year when you have a lot of other harder APs.

That makes more sense. Thanks for replying!

AP Stats is no break lol. Pointless busywork to the end of time.

AP Calc is a break. :P

Take em all.

Stats was easier than calc for me, for sure. Less work too. Though if you don’t take any calc senior year and start up in calc 2 in college, you might have a rough time. Perhaps calc BC senior year if your school offers it, it would keep you on the math sequence if you plan on taking more in college.

Does your school require you to take honors chem before AP chem but not honors bio before AP bio or honors physics before AP physics?
If it’s not a requirement I’d probably drop the honors chem and switch AP chem to soph year, AP chem and physics in the same year would be doable but rough.

As long as you take the most rigorous classes offered, you should be fine.

Agree with JoshK, move stats to 12th. Don’t break up Calc sequence.

You’ll want to keep your Calculus as close to Algebra II as possible. They’re the type of math that is on the SAT anyway. So I would definitely move stats to 12th grade. Also, I am with @BeccaN. Do you have to take the honors courses before AP?

really? it’s the opposite at my school
