how do u figure that out?

ya i alos got six for the cubes problem. The one that had answer 0 was the f(x)+g(x) with the table and x was -1 and 2 for f and g respectively (jesus, im starting to sound like a MC quesion here)

so the rest of it was 2 + (-2) = 0

the 50 - 51st was like this:

50th term is even, therefore -50. the 51 was odd, so it becomes just plain 51. put them together and u get 1.
they should haev made it something like 35th and 42nd. trickier but still armetically easy. But then again I havea n evil twisted mind that makes me want to write a down right diabolical version of this test.... ;-)

what about the one with the number line? it asked for y right? was it 6?

how do u figure out the average rate problem?

woo89, if youre talking about the one with x(which was 3/2) and y and 2x then yes, im pretty sure it was 6.

yea ok 6 i got that

Starlight, I saw that he drove for 10 mile at 20MPH, so the total time driven is .5 hours(if you don't know how I got this then theres no point to read on) for the next 10miles he went 40, so the total time is .25. The total time is .75hours
so in math friendly format:
(fraction of time drive at speed1)(speed1) + (fraction of time driven at speed2) (speed2) =
.5/.75 * 20 + .25/.75 =
2/3 * 20 + 1/3 * 40 = 40/3 + 40/3 = 80/3
Ta Da!

anybody a random question they need help on? I think i got everything, and i want see what other people thought was hard. BTW I had the pail math test with experiemental writing

What is the pail one?

wait was it 51st minus 50th? or 50th minus 51st? im not sure if i put 1 or -1.

Sum of 50th and 51st = 1

did u not have it on your test? or do u want an explanation for it? ill do both as explaining the answer has to describe the question
the answer was C,
what you had was stacked pails (buckets apperantly) it gave you some lengths, volumes and such that were labeled a,b,c,d,e on a diagram of a pail stacked in a pail. c was the amount the top pail stuck out over the bottom one. the formula you got was F(n) = 2n+8
where n is number of buckets..or pails, whatever.
they ask what the coefficient 2 came from. if you had one bucket it would be ten, but if there 2 if not 20 but 14. basically this shows (some how in my convoluted mind) that 8 is just the base hieght no matter how many pails. Youre going to need a starting going for the next pail to be on. that gets rid of one of them (dont remember which). It cant be the volume cuz were talking about hieght. It cant be the overlap becuase that doesnt add to the hight no matter how many pails. The only one that adds if you add more pails (with out ading the enitre hieght) is C, the amount sticking out.
Hope this helps.
Peace

There were two answers with 6 in them. One was the numberline which was 3,x,y,space,2x. y =6

The other one was x ^ 2/3 = y

so y ^ 3/2 = x
x^4 = (y ^ 3/2) ^ 4 which is y ^ 6

Ya I got answer c for that, but that wasn't experimental....

Wait nvm, you didn't say experimental....

"The other one was x ^ 2/3 = y"

yeah i got that too. y^6 = x^4 or sumthing like that

Hey Nina or somebody...

DO ANY OF YOU REMEMBER QUESTIONS LIKE THESE????????

At what value of h is (x-h)^2+8 symmetric to x=14.

How many positive divisors of (p^2*r^2)^2 exist including the number and 1.

for the parabola...did u find that the middle was 3.5 from averaging 7 and 0. then 3.5 - (-1.5) to get 5. and then add 5 to 3.5 to get 8.5? im sure i got it right but the paranoia is setting in....

"DO ANY OF YOU REMEMBER QUESTIONS LIKE THESE????????"

nope...different test i guess...

Yep, the answer was 8.5 Nina.:)
