I'm just not able to cross the 730-750 mark.
Its not that i can't do the questions... i just make a couple of careless errors, every single time. Its unbeleivable !

For example: 30 of something increases to 90, what is the percentage change... i just marked 300% for that real quick.

And its not that i don't have time, i have more than enough, but i'm just not able to avoid the careless errors.

Yeah i know its a pretty stupid post.....but i'm kinda desperate for help!!!!!!!!

i hate percentage problems in math. I always manage to screw those up, and thus my score stays in the low-mid 700 range...

yeah i thought that was 300 at first too... -_- me n u are alike, but then i realized its 200

you guys are too smart...how'd u get 200?

90 is 300% of 30, but 90 is only 60 MORE than 30. 60 is 200% of 30.

oh yea, same here... Always the stupid mistakes!!!!! AHHH especially when I get to the last two parts of math, it's gonna be worse.
I got 730 on June test and could only manage to have 30-50 points going up in practice test...

can someone help....a strategy to combat this or something?

i was thinking i should read each question very slowly, twice and think for a long time before answering

Well, I have the same problem, but I find in general as long as I take my time I can minimize the careless errors. They get worse when you have the mindset that SAT math is really easy and you don't have to go over your work. Of course, make sure you can finish the section in time first, as not doing that will hurt your score more.

I haven't actually taken the SAT yet, though. Next Saturday.

I've the same problem, but I've found that finishing the section in half of the time and then going through to check each question is helpful. I've tried this on four blue book tests, and so far I've gotten four 800s.
