okay, im sort of freaking out because i got a 74 on my math exam, my first
exam was an 88, so its an avg of 81, the class averages were around 60 to 65... how do the curves work, and like how close would i be to an a... my professor is johnson

calc 141 w/ R johnson

depends on the professor and the class. most profs don’t do the same thing every year; it depends how the entire class does. so if the class average was a 60-65 he might up the grades so the class average is around a 70-75. but some profs don’t curve at all. your best bet is to go to his office hours and ask him what his policy is.

also (i know this seems hard right now), try not to freak out when you get a C… you still have plenty of other grades left in the semester to boost up your final grade, plus the vast majority of college students get a B or a C every now and then :)

thanks, you made smile :)
