should i take multivariable calculus, or should i spend that time instead programming a physics circuit simulator?

oh and this is for mit/stanford/caltech admissions.

Cmon guys!!!

Bump (whatever that means)

If you find an adviser (ideally in your high school) for the simulator project and have your school treat the project as “independent study” then that would be preferable to an advanced math CC course. My recollection is that you’ve already done other post calculus courses at your CC.

If the project is strictly personal, and you do not have a vetting process for progress, then it’s unclear how it would help for admissions. It may however help you in your understanding of the physics, the simulation language etc.

Do both

10char

If those are your choices, you probably already have a pretty good looking application/transcript, so do what sounds most interesting to you.

Can the independent project end with some sort of paper? if so, you can send it in with your app to Caltech and MIT.
