Math Classes Full?

where did you get this info? lol

what info?

You want the phone number of the person that's suppose to take care of it ? I have it. I spammed her today and she never picked up -____-. Her message box is also full.

What is considered good standing on a discussion group wait list. As in a high possibility of getting in.

I looked on bear facts and it says im number 85 for my lec and 85 for my DIS. That must be false right ?

same with me, cept im 99th

Someone at Cal needs to make scheduling a little to understand. It's been so stressful because there is information everywhere about class availibility and none of them match up. GAHH

I agree with you b12yan88! Arghh.

I'm #32 for my math discussion and lecture, but I signed up under a discussion period that wasn't even "open" yet (since all the others were full) so I dunno how that's going to work out.

How could I find out my true wait list position for my Discussion group. On the online schedule of classes when i click on the buttom for real-time info, an error occurs. When i check on bearfacts it still says im 85. Does that really mean im number 85 ?

If the discussion section is full at 25, how many more do they typically let in? Do they cap it under a certain number? Say....30? It would be helpful to get an idea about what the absolute cap for a discussion is, that way you don't sign up for a section with 8 people on the waitlist already, you go for the one with only 3....

any ideas???

WAIt how do u even get into a discussion section thats "not open.." when i try to add math 1A, it lets me, but then shows all these full discussions. so i cant add it. ???

You have to enter in the waitlist instead of clicking add class

Thanks! I did not think of that.

i think the only way to see what number you are on the waitlist for an individual discussion is when you first waitlist the class - there is a column with "position" and the corresponding number should mean the # on the waitlist for the discussion already.

as for checking this # (if you don't remember), i don't think there is a way (not that i know of, at least) to do so. checking bearfacts will give you a very high number, which i believe represents the entire waitlist number for ALL discussions, not only the discussion you waitlisted.

if you want to check how many people there are waitlisted for an individual discussion group, just simply type the discussion's CCN into the enroll/waitlist option on telebears and it will give you the subsequent, up-to-date information about the specific discussion. (on a side note, though, this option does get an "error" when i try to do it for specific math discussions).

I noticed that all the Math 1A classes had added capacity. My registration time was today, and I initially tried to get on the waitlist (thinking that the class would be full). But much to my surprise, although it would not let me get on the waitlist, it let me register for the class! Furthermore, I initially signed up for a section that I didn't want, but then I went to the switch sections portion and it let me switch into the section that I wanted!!!

Do you guys think that it might have something to do with my class level? Although I'm a sophmore, I have Junior standing...might that have given me the advantage?

The same thing happened when I registered for Econ 1....guess today was my luck day!

Or you can just wait and take Math 1A in the spring.....I never understood why people strictly "follow" some schedule some advisor made up.
