On some official looking website I have found, it states:

"Once you have credit for 31A/31B through AP credit, transfer credit, or by taking the course(s) at UCLA, you will not receive unit credit for 3A/3B."

What exactly does that mean? If I received a 4/5 in Calc AB, I know I get credit for 31A and satisfy the qual. reasoning req.

at first, I thought my options were 3B or 31B.
If I have a choice, what are my options? and which should I take? The closest major/minor I'm interested in that might need the 30 series is the accoounting. But it says the 3 series are fine. They can't just change the req to 30 series or can they?

After I take 3C, if I wanted (or needed) to take more math, I would have to skip to 31B, right?

BTW if it is possible I'd suggest seeing if you can not get AP credit for the 31A and take it at ucla. 2 reasons. First, you'll be familiar with the material and you'll do well in the class. AP credit doesn't help your GPA, classes at ucla do. And we're only talking about 4 units out of the 180 min needed to graduate, so it isn't like the 31A AP credit made your life a whole lot easier. Second, if you take 31B or 3B in the fall you will be "off-track" meaning there may be only 1 class offered. The main class offered fall quarter is 3A/31A and there will be lots of class times to choose from because so many people are taking it. Convenience of your schedule is worth it, believe me ...

Well, I'm not planning on either of the 3. So that leaves me 3C and 31B? What happens if i need a year and want to start w/ 3C; what comes after?..see my questions above

I have no idea how to go about not getting the AP credit. Who would I go to or what should I do? Good advice though.

Perhaps my next best alternative is to take it next semester when many people will be taking it?
