My son is trying to decide between Georgia Tech and the University of Texas at Austin. He is a dual Math and Comp Sci major. He has visited both schools/cities and really loves them both. He is a bright kid and reasonably diligent, though he certainly does not want to spend every waking moment studying. He enjoys baseball, ultimate frisbee and golf, socializing with friends and his church fellowship group. The somewhat higher cost of Ga. Tech is not an issue. I think it is likely that he will pursue a graduate degree. Any thoughts you would have would be welcome. Thanks.

Both are really well respected for math and CS. I don’t really think either one has an edge over the other necessarily.

I’d focus more on non-academic factors. Keep in mind that GT is something like 70% boys and is a very technical-focused university. This can sometimes be a turn-off for some.
