Math Competitions in the MIT App? I feel so constrained :(

I’ve been doing math competitions since freshman year. I’ve gotten fairly decent at competitions with a 114 on the AMC 12 and a 6 on the AIME last year. I’ve done a lot of local and state math contests and was on the state arml team. However, I don’t know where to put all these competitions on the MIT app. I’m not allowed that many slots for Honors/Awards on the MIT and have other stuff like Science Olympiad, National AP Scholar, Many National Scrabble Awards, an Entrepreneurship Competition, Programming Competitions etc.

I guess if I had to be objective, I’d only show my “best” math awards like my AMC 12/AIME score and being on the state ARML team. However, I feel like this doesn’t really represent all the effort I’ve put into math competitions. I wanted to know what other people who did a lot of math competitions did and what competitions they put on the app and where they placed them. I don’t know where to show my effort in spending a summer rigorously learning math competitions, starting a math club at my school for local math competitions, studying with the city math club and traveling with them to math competitions, doing math problem sets, self learning math through math books, taking online math courses, and everything else I’ve done. I don’t think all of this can be encompassed by a 2 liner with my amc 12 / aime scores and my participation on the arml team.

In addition to this, I have poured my heart and soul into my main extra curricular, scrabble. My individual participation in scrabble tournaments, starting a scrabble tutoring business, and running the school scrabble club takes up 3 of my 4 slots for extra curricular activities as well as 2-3 slots for Honors/Awards. I am thinking about making my 4th ec about my entrepreneurship competition, but even if I made it about math, there’s no way I can show everything I’ve done in 40 words. I’m also writing my optional essay on the scrabble community and my development from when I started to play in 3rd grade.

The MIT App makes me feel incredibly constrained, and I don’t know what to do about it. I know that I’m an interesting person who’s done interesting stuff, but I don’t feel like I can display this in the MIT App. For other people who did a bunch of math competitions, what did you do?

@random91123 I believe the MIT app has a slot for AMC/AIME scores, so put those there and not on the awards/competitions section.

For the rest, you could mention the awards that you feel are more interesting, then if you wish, mention your participation in these activities through your essays.

Fwiw, I also play Scrabble competitively (~1800 NASPA rating). Did not play much within my HS, but have played in clubs and many tournaments elsewhere. Any titles or tournaments you have won can make an application look interesting. Kind of cool we share a common interest
