math concepts??

i know the poster muraski always says that there are a few concepts to nail in order to ace the math sections...i really need some help with that...what are these concepts?
any help would be appreciated.

Number and Operation

* Arithmetic word problems (including percent, ratio, and proportion)
* Properties of integers (even, odd, prime numbers, divisibility, etc.)
* Rational numbers
* Logical reasoning
* Sets (union, intersection, elements)
* Counting techniques
* Sequences and series (including exponential growth)
* Elementary number theory

Algebra and Functions

* Substitution and simplifying algebraic expressions
* Properties of exponents
* Algebraic word problems
* Solutions of linear equations and inequalities
* Systems of equations and inequalities
* Quadratic equations
* Rational and radical equations
* Equations of lines
* Absolute value
* Direct and inverse variation
* Concepts of algebraic functions
* Newly defined symbols based on commonly used operations

Geometry and Measurement

* Area and perimeter of a polygon
* Area and circumference of a circle
* Volume of a box, cube, and cylinder
* Pythagorean Theorem and special properties of isosceles, equilateral, and right triangles
* Properties of parallel and perpendicular lines
* Coordinate geometry
* Geometric visualization
* Slope
* Similarity
* Transformations

Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability

* Data interpretation
* Statistics (mean, median, and mode)
* Probability

Is the math section primarily Alegebra I or also advanced algebra?

it's pretty much a combination of both.

For example, If 2x+7=3x+2 what is x+2?

You can expect those to be the first question to almost any SAT test. Then there are more complex that require advanced algebra skills.

Algebra II to Algebra III, math analysis if that's what it's called.

Algebra III? my school doesn't offer that :X

basically, have basic arithmethic down, along with basic algebra (3x + 5 = 29, solve for x), basic geometry (know circles, some tangents for harder questions, etc.), and have a very basic idea of algebra II (mostly the stuff you just review from algebra I anyways)

Uh, the math portion WILL ask for Algebra beyond Algebra I, I'd say 80% of it is Advanced Algebra (II). The rest are annoying geometry problems, and "which integers...blah blah" pesky problems as well.

80% of the math test is Algebra II?....... i HIGHLY doubt that gumball. maybe 10% is algebra II (the more difficult portion anyways)

idk, maybe they changed it since last october.

I've taken the Barron's SAT math tests, and I find that most of the problems (if not all) are Algebra II.
