OMG thanks so much. i was able to change my schedule!

yay me too! haha…mabye we’ll see each other in class …lol

I switched to Pantano I hope she’s a good teacher for 2b. I really don’t remember much from calculus. But now I need to wake up earlier everyday except tuesday. :(

I’m still seeing new only?

@EduardoMonster: I’m in the same boat as you… Anyone have any input on professor Sun?

yea i have pantano for 2b also. i originally had chrystal but after reading ratemyprof i dropped my social science class and changed to her. oh well ill take soc sci next quarter. lol

stop your complaining, I’m doing Math 131A next term. Trust me, 2b isn’t that bad if you study for it and keep up with things.

sorry guys, are you guys enrolling in ‘new only?’ all the classes are wait listed and i don’t want to drop my class only to find i can’t enroll in one of the ‘new only’ classes…lol sorry, i know this is kind of a stupid question haha.

@phamous

yes, we’re incoming freshman so we get to benefit from the new only classes.

Question: What is the hardest and easiest lower division math courses, with the exemption of 2A and 2B?

Coming from someone who has taken 2A, 2B, 2D, 2J, 3D, 2E, and upper div math (engineering)…

Don’t read too much into rate my prof.

I took virtually all of my courses with the “hard” professors and aced virtually all of them (no prior calc experience, never took the AP’s in HS). Most people posting in this thread are probably incoming frosh and whatnot. At the university level it’s really about your work ethic. Don’t change up your schedules to something crazy based on the opinions of others. Instead, identify your weaknesses/strongsuits and implement a plan of action early on if your performance is lacking. Trust me when I say it’ll be for the better as opposed to relying on grade inflation.

^, I agree that it is about the student’s work ethic.

However, its universal that there are professors that different students find more easy to learn from. Professors have better ratings on RatemyProf for a reason. Why should a student burden him/herself to teach themselves the material, if they don’t understand what the professor is saying or if the professor goes on tangents all day?

Keep in mind that many of these students want the easy route. Most are probably just taking Math 2b as part of their GE reqs, many majors do not go to any more math beyond 2B.
