Would it be possible to get credit for Math 1B if I received a 4 on the Calc BC exam?

I'm in engineering, btw.

Thanks in advance :)

No, you need a 5 to place out of Math 1B.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm just confused by what it says on the notes/announcement:
"It is recommended that students with scores of 3 or 4 contact a non-major advisor in the Math Department, or consider taking Math 1B."

So I thought we might be able to forego 1B or something.

could we get credit if we haven't taken passed the BC exam yet (taking it this may), but already passed calculus 2 and multivariable calculus at a local community college? or would you simply recommend me retaking math 1b when i'm at cal?

Those credits should transfer without difficulty if it is from a california community college and should meet the prerequisites. Whether you want to take the courses again would be up to you. Certainly the grading on those courses will be much harder at Berkeley, but presumably you'll be forced to learn more too.
