I got a 5 on the BC Calc AP exam after taking calc II in high school. After looking at the math department's advising chart, it says I should take honors Calc III but I wasn't so sure. I am probably going to do pre-med program and I understand that you just need calculus I and II for pre-med. After the 5, I think calc I is out of the question but I didn't really understand how different the HONORS calc II and calc II would be. How much more difficult is honors and are the materials that are taught very different in these two courses? Please reply back thanks a lot : )

I got a 5 on the BC test as well and redid Calc 2. It was a breeze so I wouldn't suggest wasting your time on in since first semester is pass/fail anyway. Calc 3, on the other hand, was quite a difficult course for almost everyone I know. Taking it first semester will relieve a lot of the stress. Honors is more about proofs and theory than applications, so for premed, I would just take the regular Calc 3.
