I'm considering going away from a traditional laptop and into the realm of tablets for the first time. I actually very much prefer reading textbooks on a computer screen than I do on paper, and I would like to be able to download e-book versions of my textbooks directly to my computer and not mess with paper at all. I know about the compatibility issues with math-oriented textbooks with e-readers such as kindle and nook, but I was wondering if anyone here has experience or otherwise knows if the same compatibility issues would exist on a tablet PC.

You can find some classics in .pdf form so a PC, tablet or otherwise, could display them. Furthermore, a PC (tablet or otherwise) could also run Kindle for PC and likewise function as an e-reader for Kindle books.

A few of my books have online versions… you basically log into a website. As long as you had internet access, I’m sure that would work as well.
