hey guys,
so I took ap calculus AB my senior year and got a 5 on the AP test which came out in July. My orientation is this upcoming weekend and I was wondering if I still have to take the math diagnostic test online.

I was told that if we got a 5 on the calc AB test, we wouldn't have to take the diag test and we would automatically be able to take any math we want, but is that still the case if my scores came out this summer?

Correct, you do not need to take the test. I got a 5 on my senior year’s test, and I took 31B that fall, and I did not take the diagnostic test. In fact, I don’t even think they’ll let you take it.
And, even though I’m sure it’s not what you meant, you can’t take ANY math class you want. You can enroll in 3B, 31B, and 32A in the fall with a score of 5 on AB. Best of luck.

A 5 in AB will pass you out of 31A, however 32A only has 31A as a pre-requisite so I believe you would be able to enroll in 32A, though most people probably take 31B before 32A (32A is another animal compared to single-variable calculus and focuses on differentiation, so I guess that’s why 31B isn’t also a pre-requisite). If you get a 5 in BC you are allowed to pass out of 31A and 31B and you pick between 32A or 3C.

thank you both! this was a lot of help
and yes hahah @ thelonewanderer I should have been more specific about the classes I would be able to take. anyways thanks again!
