@behindthelens- if you want an explanation for it look earlier in the thread- i laid it out so you can replicate the graph on your calculator, and the answer was F/choice #1 (the L-shaped graph)

for the graph one i used knowledge from calculus as the graph of a limit…

when you say it is an L shape, are you guys saying the closer it gets to zero it goes to infinity? more of a curved L shape?

Darn. And thanks, vcooper, I saw that earlier and it made sense. I just didn’t know what letter that corresponded to.

for are of circle in square circle i put 16pi
for ab=ac i think i put angle as 65

@vault: the L shape…i would describe it as an inverse exponential function, such as y=1/(xˆ2)

It looked asymptotic to the y-axis and the x-axis

okay good thats what i put. i’m really nervous for the science. i finished but i feel i just made dumb mistakes on it. where you from cooper?

Does anyone know the answer to the question about the store display??

I kept getting the wrong answer!!! Grrr…

The top pile has 20 something…let’s call it oranges.

central ohio - you?
btw i got hammered on the science too haha…first ACT =/

and @kiwiblush - the answer was 140
5x4 on the top = 20
5 total levels and each level has 4 more cans than the last so
20+24+28+32+36=140

iowa. noone is writing on this… i really wish i could see all science answers so i know how i did

The trig ones were so not beneficial to me. I haven’t taken trig yet, so that screwed me up. But for this one problem, I think I did inverse of tan (2) or or maybe it was 1/2… I forget. But everything else was pretty easy.

so the answer for the graphs was the first one? did that one have 2 l graphs on it?

^Sighh… The first answer (A) had one L shaped curve, and that was the correct answer.

one answer was 360 degrees

I believe it was asking what the sum of four angles was. They were two pair of supplementary angles.

Oo I remember that. I hope I put that. I may have put 300 if I was being an idiot.

There are only a couple i didn’t feel confident in. the law of cosines problem which i left blank because time was called as i was working on it and i think i may have put the wrong answer on the problem who’s answer was tan(1/2). Other than that, i don’t think i missed to many. Hopefully no more than -5. 31-32 please?

One of the last math problems asked for the equation of the line perpendicular to the equation given. Were any of the answers correct? I had 15 minutes left over and redid it over a dozen times. I kept getting 5x+6y=25 (may have been 6x+5y=25, don’t remember) The number 25 was not in any of the choices. Does anyone remember the original equation?

It just has to be perpendicular, the y-intercept doesn’t matter. The origonal slope was -5/6(i think) and you needed the other one to be 6/5.

The display answer was 140?? Which letter is that, do you remember?

When in doubt…I choose either the smallest or biggest number. Hopefully I guessed correctly!!

I believe the answer to the perpendicular prob was ax+by=10. I remember the 10 part
