Math Discussion For ACT December 2009

I remember the ten part too.

I’m pretty sure it was 6x + 5y = 10…
The original must have been 5x - 6y = (some value I can’t remember)

The original slope was 5/6. The perpendicular is the negative reciprocal. So, its slope had to be -6/5. I don’t remember what answer choice that was, but I do remember it was given in standard form.

yeah I just remember it was in standard form and the answer had a “+” sign

yeah the answer was 6x+5y=10

@kiwi: 140 was the greatest number of the choices and it was the last choice

Okay then the original equation was 5x-6y=30. The answer was c which was 6x+5y=10. But unless my eyes were playing tricks on me, I’m pretty sure choice a was also of the form 6x+5y=?. So then I picked c at the last second

@krazy- i believe there may have been an answer choice that was 6x-5y=? but im sure there was not another 6x+5y answer

Yeah, vcooper is right.

Also btw, so are the scores going to be posted on December 28th exactly on act.org?

They usually come out on the 28th exactly 1am EST, 12am CST, 10pm PST.

I took it in Oct. and it came out on the dot at 10pm.
