Hi, I was recently admitted as a math transfer. I was planning on switching to Math/Econ during orientation. Is it was okay to take economics 1 and 2 this summer in community college where i'll be able to get easy A's, enjoy the summer and take Econ 11 in the fall? Or would taking easy econ 1 and 2 classes over the summer not prepare me well enough to take econ 11 in the fall?

Econ 1/2 is an intro course into economics and you should be fine just taking it at a community college. Econ 11 isn’t hard either so you should be fine.

I think it’d be better to take classes relevant to your major at the school, and take GE’s at community college. That way, people won’t think you went to summer school to avoid taking Econ at UCLA.
