Math/Econ in UCLA VS Operation research and management science in Berkeley

HI everyone,

I am current student at a CC and just got admitted to Math/Econ major in UCLA.
for berkeley,i am admitted to the college of letter and sci and very interested in applying ORMS major.

These two majors are similar stuff and I am having a hard time to pick one between the two
Thank you for any advice !!! I will appreciate them !!!
Thanks a lot !!

The ORMS major at Berkeley is capped, so you want to check whether you will actually be able to declare the major. Contact the department contact with your questions on this matter.

Majoring in applied math with an appropriate concentration and electives is suggested as an alternative.

I would do math/econ anyway. You’ll learn the tools of the trade with enough content knowledge to get by. If you get a job out of college a lot of what you’ll need to know will be company and industry specific anyway. if you go to grad school, you’ll have a leg up on people who didn’t do econ and math.
