math for lifesci students

How does placement into these classes work? Are we required to take the placement test at orientation or are we automatically placed into the first class because the AP test is for the 30 series and not the 3 series?

you may find some useful information in <a href="http://www.math.ucla.edu/ugrad/apcredit.shtml#Credit%5B/url%5D">http://www.math.ucla.edu/ugrad/apcredit.shtml#Credit</a></p>

and sorry...i have a similar question but dont wanna take up the forum space by starting another thread. i got a 5 on my AB calc exam and had my score sent to ucla already. does this mean that i am not eligible to retake Math 3A and that im automatically placed in either 31B or 3B? cuz i really felt that i need to review before i delve into the more advanced calc...
thanks

you can take math 3a/31a if you want, but then you'll have to take the math placement test at orientation

So is it possible to test into 3b with the diagnostic test? b/c i got a 3 on the ab test =/

I think it is possible to test into 3B.
