Math for March SAT 2009

I also took the Nov. SAT and then didnt take it again until now, and yeah I agree with you. I didn't really prepare at all either time, I got an 800 in Nov. but I may not even come close to that this time... I left the last fill-in blank and there was one MC question I had no idea on. I'm pretty sure I had math experimental though, so that's a good thing I guess.

I usually get 700+ in Math, and always finish with at least 5 minutes remaining at the end. Today's SAT was harder for some reason, I completely blanked on that pie chart question in open ended. And the math section I did well on turns out to be an experimental >.>

I got lazy near the end, but it didn't really mess me up so I just started strategically plugging in numbers for the P one.

The Indian programmer/writer one was NOT experimental. I had it and I had experimental math. And by no means was that passage cute. It was somewhat dense and the questions were vaguer than were those on the other sections. The experimental math was blatantly obvious that it was experimental. The questions for me were easy but I could see that there was no apparent order of difficulty.

I though the essay topic was easier (many examples) but my intro was a LOT worse than the Jan. one

Oh, definitely. It was really easy. I feel as if I messed up a little. I crash landed around 375-400 words, which is okay. I mainly wrote about how society looks at the face value and then when we look behind the projected image, then we start to see where the edges were cut and the inconsistencies. Mentioned Andrew Carnegie (big time illegal inside trader) and about how colleges (managed to get Northwestern and NYU in there!!) won't know the difference between a cheated 98 and an honest 90 - and how they'll prefer the 98. Etc. At the end, instead of trying to sound like I was promoting cheating and edge-cutting, I noted that we should be happy with our endeavors and how we have a guilt-free conscience.

I don't think this is illegal since I"m not discussing questions.

Eh, it doesn't matter. It's not like we can go back in change our answers, or that they'll seriously come on CC and search our usernames to e-mails or the answers we put down to give us a big fat zero. Although, I was tempted to pull out my phone so they can do a "thorough investigation." (I laughed so hard when the proctor said that. I mean, c'mon.)

umm wasn't writing the experimental

i had 2 35 minute writing sections

also the 1/6 circle/triangle question was still on my test, so there was no way that that was experimental

"I completely blanked on that pie chart question in open ended. "

same bro

So much harder than the practice tests I've taken. And just with my luck the one math section I felt good about was the experimental.

I think posting on this thread and the math one is messing me up a little...

Anyways, my experimental was a CR section so I don't think it is. You had to isolate the variables and then divide by the coefficient. At least I think that's the question you're talking about.

"I completely blanked on that pie chart question in open ended. "
SAMEEE!!!!!

i thought the indian one wasn't that bad. i completely understood it. I am indian btw.

So which one was the experimental? I had 4 sections and I thought the first section was experimental. Was it?

Daaamn pie chart!

:[

How do you know which section is experimental

Lol I thought I'd write about Madoff, but I couldn't remember if I was spelling his name right, decided not to risk it

3.5 weeks!!! The wait is going to be soooo excruciatingly!!

The experimental for me was an open ended math section. It had this particular problem that stood out with a circle and its tangent, and an arc that was 1/6 of the circle.

Let's peice together all of the CR sections:

1) Old hag and the media
2) Dumb indian programmer
3) 20 Questions
4) Museum (Thanks Zip)

What one was that? I am hoping not the ones about cookies....

How do you know which section is experimental

[/quote]

Whatever one you had four of. (Remember: Section 1, the essay, is considered Writing.)

God, the circle and its tangent. I almost cried.

Oh, and I got five answers in a row, all A. I definitely almost cried.

What makes you think that one was the experimental? and was that the one that had the question asking about a sequence where you had to subtract the preceding number or something and you had to find the constant m?

Oh, that problem...I thought the arc info was irrelevant, eh? I pretty much cried...I can't believe on one MC and one grid-in I failed to answer exactly what it asked for, because I was so pressed for time. Hopefully I didn't do anything else as stupid.

I didn't think it was as bad as January, but I have a tendency to make silly mistakes so I'm sure I got plenty wrong >_<
