So, if a student has AP Calc and/or AP Spanish exams (with 4s or 5s) do they have to take the assessments mentioned in the BAMA Bound Guidebook???

No. Your D would be beyond that. Her AP credits would determine what she takes next.

And students never really have to take FL assessments anyway. A student can simply choose to start with 101 if they wish, or 103 if they have the prereqs.

As ever, thank you M2CK.

I had hoped that was the case.

My D did take the spanish placement test at BB because her AP score wouldn’t come out until late June. She was glad that she did. The placement exam placed her out of 202 and into Spanish 353. And she only got a 4 on her AP exam, which would have put her in 202.
She found 353 to be easy, so I am glad she didn’t need to take 202.

^^^ Yes, you can do that. You can place out of various FL classes without ever taking the high school or AP class.

You can also do CLEP, which is easier than AP exams.
