Math formulas to know

I want to know formulas you know that we should know that pop up a lot and ones to look out for. I know using practice test helps but I want to be ready for anything. I have princeton review and it doesn't cover all the kinds of problems I have encountered.

there are basically no formulas to memorize…know your Geometry and Algebra. The worst question I have seen was regarding to Logarithms, so there really isn’t anything that needs formulas. All formulas that are needed are given with the problem…

A couple that caught me off guard were the midpoint formula and the area of a trapezoid. they don’t come up often but I’ve seen them a couple of times. Also the equation of a circle

(x - h)2 + (y - k)2 = r^2 is the circle formula
circumference c = 2piradius
area pir^2

you can solve a trapezoids area by just splitting it into parts mid points good to know also.

quadratic formula
