Got an email saying I was eligible for Math 31A-B-C. Has anyone taken this or know whether it's worth taking? I'm a bioengineering: biotech major, possibly premed. Does the honors look that good on your transcript? Helpful for MCAT? Thanks!

No and no.

I got the email too! But im most likely not gonna take it because 1) i took calc bc in junior year and i have completely forgot everything about calculus 2) since im going for premed, taking honor courses doesnt help me much as far as i know, cuz med schools only look at gpa

got the email too. i was asking the same question in another topic but no one replied. =.=

It’s a more proof oriented version of the Math 20 series.

From what I’ve heard of it, it is meant for Math majors though a couple of EE and BioE students take it for the challenge/transcript/etc. reasons.

It has a really small class size in comparison to the Math 20 series so that’s a big advantage. Though this may be because lots of people drop out as the series progresses.

You definitely learn more/harder math concepts so if you’re into that (and fine with the effort/skills you need to put in for the high grade), go for it…

just wondering
if you take this, this this exempt you from teh 20 series, or you have to take that also

You’re exempt. It takes place of Math 20C,D,F. I don’t think I’ll take it, since I don’t really like proofs.

Take it if you like math.

Don’t take it if you don’t like math.

Simple as that.
