I think its possible to take the Math Level I and the Math Level II, right? They will count as two seperate test, wont they? Currently I'm thinking about Math I and II + French as my three subject tests. Would that work? Or would adcoms ask why the heck I didn't do, say, physics, instead of two math tests? Or will they simply not care?

I have the same question except I've already received an 800 on MathIIC, but want to take MathIC to fulfill the third required subject test. What ya' think?

[thread=241840]Here[/thread] is a thread discussing this. There was never a consensus on this issue on CC...
BUT I emailed Harvard Admissions and was told taking both Math tests was acceptable. So go for it. You have Harvard's consent.

Do the tests that you know you'll get the highest scores on. It's THAT simple. :P

And if you want a quick easy lil' trick - try to get tests that do make sense w/your major. Now I'm not saying do French, Spanish, and Chinese if you want to study linguistics, but do take at least one of the maths if you're doing engineering, and at least chem or bio if you're doing pre-med. As long as you fit this description, seriously don't sweat! ;)

Thats a really good advice, but in my case it does not work, unfortunately. I wanna major in languages, but I can't take the SAT Chinese, because I am Chinese, ^^. I can't take German, becaus I live in Germany, and I obviously can't take English, so I'm left with only French. These are the only languages that I speak. Of course I would like to take 2 or even 3 SAT II language tests, but I can't... Thanks for your replies though, I think I'll settle with math I

Well it even says on their website that international applicants should not take any subject tests in their native language, so German and Chinese are out

pearfire: You don't live in China, and you would show that not only are you Chinese but also that you are proficient in Chinese by acing the SAT II Chinese. For instance a Chinese applicant living in America could take that test.
....so you could take chinese...:-l....and at an info session a year ago, a harvard admin definitely said it was ok to take both maths. french, math, and chinese just seems cooler

Link, please?

If you are an international applicant, it might help your application to take an SAT II that suggests good reading knowledge in English (e.g., one of the history SAT IIs). But if you are running out of time now and applying this year, just take what you think you will do best at and don't worry about it.
