Math I and II

Do colleges, that require 2 sat subject test, accept students that take the Math I and II subject test?

Each college has different policies about it, but I don’t think most look favorably on submitting only two subject tests from Math. Even if they do, it’s best to show mastery in another area like science/history/language etc. Also the Math II is preferred/more impressive than Math I if your looking at top-tier schools, and especially if your majoring in math/science/engineering. Hope that helps :)

yeah it does help, tnx a lot
I think i’ll probably take both the math tests, cuz if u prepare for the Math II u’re already prepared for the Math I, and i think i’ll take the chemistry subject test too :D

No. That’s a complete waste of time and money. Why would you ask for a suggestion and then completely disregard it?

Everything you’d find on the Math I test is included or needed to take Math II, meaning you should prepare to take Math II and that’s it. Taking both would not help your chances and it would probably even hurt them.

Besides, the Math II test is notoriously easy, at least if you’re good at math. Something like 10% of students got an 800 last year.

^11% i believe. haha sorry, i couldn’t help it.

OP: I agree with RaVNzCRoFT, don’t take math level 1 if you have the ability to succeed on leve 2.

Well math is one of my strongest sides, and i’ll certainly take the math II, i just didn’t know the answer to the question that i posted, which i wouldn’t have done if i did know.

why? I took math I and II. Its a lot harder to ace math I. I think that actually looked better for me than yet another math II 800

So you’re saying it’s harder to do well on an easier test and a good grade on an easy test is better than a good grade on a hard test? If you have a legitimate point, please explain it and maybe I’ll understand. But all you did was make a crazy assertion without any sort of logical explanation.

OP: If you believe at some point you’ll be able to get a good grade on Math II, take it. If you get a good grade, that will cover for Math I and you’ll be done with math SAT II’s. If you honestly don’t think you can do well on Math II but can do well on Math I, take Math I and don’t spend money for an inevitable bad grade on Math II. But if you take Math I and do well and then take Math II and do well, colleges may think you did Math II first and then took Math I for an easy good grade. In a nutshell, take one or the other. If you’re a good math student and take Math II, hopefully you should do well. If you’re a lousy math student and you only take Math I, adcoms will know you’re not great at math (from your application) and they’ll know why you didn’t take Math II.

@ ravnzcroft that was the answer i was looking 4, thanks, and i’ll take the math II :D

RaVNzCRoFT -

what I am saying is that the Math I test is “simpler” in terms of subject material but much harder to get an 800 on. A 760 my year was a 98th percentile in math 1 but a 760 would be like an 84th percentile in math 2

what i am saying is that more people do well in math 2. The point is more moot. Getting an 800 on math I means you made no mistakes. getting an 800 on math 2 means you made anywhere from 0-10 mistakes depending on year

thats my 2 c
