I got a 670 in May but went down in June to 600 :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

but i have to get above 700!! I must, I have to, It's imperative that I do!

is it possible? if so, how? I reviewed the math stuff in Barron's like 3 times already; and I do practice tests but my score reains buoyant at the early 600s. I'm out of ideas and options.... I'm hopeless.

is it doable? how?

i too ask myself the same question...i got a 670 twice in a row after hours of study... :(

my scores are on atual tests :(

so are mine...lol

I meant twice in a row with like several months apart.

lol
so is it possible? do you know anyone who has done it before? and how?

sure but they won't tell me how...bastards

yeah... bastards!!
i neeeed 700 + to get into the college of my dreams... well, not really my dreams... well, not really my dreams; it's the only one available.

perhaps your simply not that good at math? the prevailing attitude here seems to be "anyone can get a 2400 if they just study." that's simply false - were it true, the SAT and ACT would be useless. of course, study can help you somewhat, but 600 to 740? no.

I went from 600 to 790. Just study patterns in practice tests. I find all the questions to be similar from test to test. But maybe that's just me.

so i guess studying will do it...a 790 sounds great then i'd be right under 2400

What did you use to study rlh0234?

yeah, i wanna know that too...^^^^

dude - even i myself...i thought i did great on the math section but... somehow i got 600 too...i'm like blowing myself up...

still have two more chances...

i hate the math section...

the curve is brutal. :(

maybe y'all are just too dumb

Anyone can study and get 2200+. I really, really believe that. I went from a 590 in math, to a 680, and am hoping on the next test to get above 700.

The trick is just finding the studying technique to work for you.

When you go through Barron's book, make sure you are /dissecting/ the problems you get wrong. Why did you get the wrong? What fundamental skill is it testing? How can I get it right /next time/? Practice other problems like it. Some people are bad at doing this on their own, which is why they get tutors to do all that work for them...but you CAN study and you CAN get above a 700...

If you don't, though, it's not the end of the world man...but good luck.

use barron's and princeton 11 real SATs, both of those math sections are harder than the real thing but if you start to score well on them, you will score well on SAT. i got an 800 on the SAT in math w/ those 2 =)

the math curve is horrible. getting 3-4 questions wrong dropped me 100 full points :(

if you're stuck in the high 600s/low 700s like me, i think your best bet is to make sure you (1) don't make stupid mistakes (2) pace yourself, i ran out of time last time and had to guess on one or two grid-ins (3) familiarize yourself with the types of questions.

also last time i seemed to spend obsessive amounts of time on the first 10-15 problems in each problem set... i did each problem like 5x, i swear haha. i kept thinking i got them wrong. :(...

^^^you need to go to this thread: "wow... i feel dumb" you'll really fit in

I think it's entirely possible.

I got mid to high 600s on all the practice Math sections on the tests I took, and then ended up with a 650 on my April test. All I wanted was to get a stupid 700, and ended up getting a 710 on the June one.

I'm going to retake it to try to get my 680 CR up to a 700, it just looks so much prettier like that, doesn't it?

In terms of feeling frustrated with the same score, not that I'm complaining because I know it's good, but I got a 73 on the writing PSAT, 730 11 essay in April, and...730 11 Essay in June. Nice improvement, eh? =P
