Math IC & Math IIC

I need two SAT subject tests for the colleges I want in. If I take Math level 1 and math level 2, are those considered two subject tests or only one? Because I read somewhere around here that they were like 1 only, and I need to know whether I should substitute one of the Maths for a Biology.

If it says, “two subject tests required” with no other specifications, then yes I would say Math I and Math II are separate. But is there a good reason to take both?

There is no reason to take both. Save some money and only take the Math Level II. Math Level II has a more generous curve. I took Math I when I was a freshman and got a 680, but I got a 780 on Math Level II when I took it as a junior. Try to take another subject test. Biology works.

Honestly, the only reason I’d take both if because it would be easier for me. Do you think it would give college admissions look down on me because I took two maths instead of a Math IIC and another subject? It’s just English isn’t my mother tongue, so learning subjects is a lot harder for me. I tried my biology workbook, and honestly I had to try and learn everything with an open dictionary next to me. I’m going to be taking the SATs in May so I’ve been wondering whether a month for Math IIC and Biology E would be enough to prepare.

And I’ve already gone through two Math IC workbooks, meaning if I took the two Maths I’d have more time to prepare for the Math IIC, which is turning out difficult for me as well since some of the stuff I haven’t learnt in school yet… at least that’s the way I see it  Just taking the easy road, I guess.

Don’t take Math1 and Math2 (Omit the C, that is so outdated). Schools would only consider them as 1 subject. On the other hand, Math1 has a horrible curve. If you are doing pre-calc at school, go for Math2 and you are likely to get a better score.

Math IIC is not that hard to do well on if you study hard. I guess that could be said for any test, though. I’d just take the II.
