Math IC or IIC?

Hi, i'm currently a jr. and i'm not really sure on which one i should take. I'm in Math Analysis(Honors)...also know as Pre-Calc(Honors)..right now. Ya i know what your thinking....i should be able to take the IIC right? Well i've never taken algebra 2...so i'm kinda struggling in math analysis right i think i'm gettin a B- o C+. So since the math iic consists of this stuff should i just go with the IC? But i also heard that the IC's curve was crazy...any info would be appreciated.

take IIC. Just study extra and you'll be fine.

why don't you take a practice test of each and see which one you do better on/which one would be easier to study for?

hmm...i'm thinking maybe the IC might be easier because it's like easier concepts. But i was also wondering i mean does it look better to have a 690 IIC compared to maybe a 700-710IC?

B
U
M
P

710 ic is a lot better than 690 iic. i think 690 iic would be like 40th percentile or something, and 710 ic would be around 90th percentile. just a guess but u get the point. dont take ic (which has easier material) unless u think you can get the majority of the Qs right: very harsh curve. on the iic, the math is much harder but curve is nicer

i took IIC my junior year in pre-calc honors and got a 780, it wasn't bad at all, this year i took it and got 800, since you are in pre-calc honors you should take IIC, it is for the upper level math people which you are, however a 690 IC is probably in the 80th percentile and a 700 IIC is probably around 70th percentile, i would go with IIC, if you do really bad take IC next year, if you do fine, you can take IIC again and improve, and if you do amazing, you don't have to take IIC again, but if you take IC and do amazing you'll be asking yourself whether you should have taken IIC, your decision though, good luck

ok thanks for the comments ilovemath and psquared. I was wondering...what exactly is on the IIC test? is it algebra 2/trig and pre-calc or what?

basically a pre-calc test.

Imo, i'd take the IC now and IIC in June
