On the penn website it says "applicants to the Wharton School are strongly encouraged to take a mathematics, level 2, Subject Test."

But since I took the ACT, I technically do not need to take the subject test; however, I am aware that most applicants will have taken it.

I haven't started yet, but I do plan to prep. for it over the summer. However, I am not confident that I will score exceptionally well, which seems necessary for Wharton.

So... around what score would I need to be able to get in order for it to be worth taking? 700+? 750+? This test in particular confuses me because the percentiles are so harsh (an 800 is 85 percentile).

Would it be better to send in a low math ii score or just not bother taking it if I cannot reach a certain score on practice tests, and only send in my Math I Subject Test score (750)?

[I'm an unhooked applicant with a 33 ACT Composite (35 reading, 34 math, 35 english, 28 science, 12 essay) in case that is necessary to put it all into perspective.]
Thanks :)

Get at least a 750+, but most kids on here, including myself, think Math II is one of the easiest subject tests to get an 800 on, because of the curve.

Incoming engineering sophomore here! For what it’s worth, I got a 740 on Math II and a 570 on Physics, but a 2250 on my SAT (720 math). Obviously, it’s hard to say what the admissions officers are going to pick up on, but I’d say that if the rest of your application is spot-on, one less-than-stellar subject test isn’t going to be the worst. I really thought that Physics score was going to kill me, but I got in!

I made a 700 on Math II, but considering I did not study for it as much as Bio E (never took AP Bio) and made a 700, I plan on retaking it with some studying
