I got a 790 on the June Math II. I was browsing on the forums and some say that the difference between 790 and 800 is negligible, while others say that it is a huge difference given the curve.

So....I can't make up my mind. Is it really negligible or not? Myself, I was kind of expecting 800, so I got bummed out when I saw the score. I'm aiming for top colleges, and I wonder if it matters, especially since I'm in the Asian demo.

Wow hellocollegelife, that’s one tough school. Why did she retake it? Was it worth it? Don’t colleges see how many times you retake the thing? I don’t know, but I don’t think a 790 would put me behind all the other Asians on the list.

On a side note…SO MANY PEOPLE on this site got 800 on their Math II. I feel like throwing a shoe at them. ><"

Ahh. I see. Well, I am planning on taking other SAT Subj. to boost my reputation. If I don’t do that well on the other subject tests, then I will consider retaking this. For now, I will go crazy if I spend another three months worrying about this one.

yeah retake. Getting ONE more question right will really impress someone more. And I’m sure CB would love to take your $31 for a test that will make no difference in admissions than the one you took previously

790 is still stratospheric. You realize you can get lost in the shuffle faster if your ECs aren’t up to par and your essays aren’t solid, right? Take a hard look at your overall “package” before you obsess. But, good luck.

You’ll be fine haha. They’re not going to kick you away if you didn’t get an 800. They look at other, more important things, like GPA, courseload, and, of course, SAT I score. Not to mention essays and ECs.
