Math II question about the range of a graph

According to sparknote: "If the range of a function is (–5, 5), this means that –5 is included in the range, but 5 is not. (The range is said to be “inclusive” of –5 but exclusive of 5.) "

I don't remember learning anything about this. I thought range was just the possible values of y?

What you mean to say is [-5,5). The bracket "[" means inclusive and the parenthesis ")" means exclusive (and same applies for "]" and "(").

That's nice to know, thanks!
I didn't type this, it was a cut and paste. Sparknote made a typo I guess. So if they used (-5,5) instead of [-5,5), then I was actually right! lol
Thanks again!
