Do I really need to take a pre-calc class to get 700-800 on the math ii subject test? I've heard from some people that only basic pre-calc is tested on the test. So my question is.. is it really necessary? Since, I have Algebra/Trigonometry H junior year, realistically.. theres no way for me to take the pre-calc class senior year. Any suggestions and comments would be appreciated! :)

Unless you wield the god-like Ti-89, you will need to know Pre-Calculus/Trig extensively.

Hmm... I am taking the SAT II's Math Level Two in like 2 days as well... and I am in the middle of precalculus. I have only encountered a couple questions on the test that were totally foreign to me like matrixes. I consistently get 650+, so I think that with practice, anyone can do good!

i took a practice test cold without precalc and got a 660.

The only thing you really need to know from precalc the most are manipulations of sine, tangent, and cosine.

for me the sat ii was a joke. I am taking it tomorrow and I am studying for it right now. My first practice test is a 800, where I got 3 careless mistakes and 2 (1 on matrices, might need to review).

Even though it's the only set of problem I had done, but I would strongly recommend Precalc (AB or BC would be perfect). I saw a couple limit problems, and I wouldn't know how to do them without L'hopital way. And some complex number concepts are precalc I think.

But if you dont screw up the other stuff, you can pretty much still get 800 by only passing geometry
