Anyone that has used Barrons and had time issues take the exam to realize that they had plenty of time? I had to use an extra 15 minutes on the Barrons to finish... Any tips on speeding up? GAH.

I took it yesterday and there were questions I couldn’t do.
I would suggest to read fast through questions and if you see you can’t do them or it will take you long, you should mark it and come back later.

Middle level questions in between numbers 25-40 are sometimes harder than question 50 or 49. So make sure you go through THE WHOLE TEST. Before time runs out. You might end up omitting 3, but you might as well get 4 extra right answers which you may have never got.

When I took the Barron’s practice tests, I would usually run out of time a lot, just like you do. But in the actual test, I finished early and had some time to double check some of my answers. So don’t stress too much about the time. Just try reducing those extra minutes you give yourself, and review the material (take and retake those quizzes that the book gives), and keep on practicing.

I thought you said you had fifteen extra minutes left…

As the other people said, you usually run out of time. It would take me about an hour and a half to actually finish one of those silly tests, and I would usually have about anywhere from three minutes to nine minutes left on a “realistic” test from Sparknotes MathII.

Skip and mark any you don’t understand- you might find a problem later in the test that may help you, or may help you remember what to do.

Try to give yourself 55 minutes instead of the whole hour, and try to work down to, say, 45 minutes. That’ll get you speedy for the test ;)

i took like 3 barrons tests and i would range around 600-630
taking like at 1 hour and 15mins on average

i just took the most recent released collegeboard test (may02) and i got a 770, with a few minutes to spare ( and i took my time on the questions)

so i guess barrons is tough.

Barrons is very difficult, but its the best training.
First time round, I studied with KAPLAN’s, feeling very confident (scoring 770-800’s on practice tests).
Guess what? Come test day I was shocked at how much more difficult the collegeboard test was… ended up with a 720 math II; 760 math I.

retook em’ both (separate dates) – studying with BARRON’s, didn’t feel so dandy this time (scoring 720-750, with overtime) – come test day I had about 15-17 mins left over to double check answers.
Ended up with an 800 on math II (and still waiting on the math I - took it yesterday)

KEEP AT IT !!
Take barrons tests till the day before, and towards the end of studies take a collegeboard test (or any other easy one) and you’ll both feel great and actually be well prepared.

I feel like barrons is usually harder, I like to use it though, since im usually too confident.
