I'm a junior who is just starting to contemplate which Subject Tests I want to take. Can anyone tell me the main differences between Math II and Math I (material covered)? And when do you recomend taking the Math II? I'm in honors trig this semester and honor precalc next semester, if that helps for when you think I should take it.

bump. anyone?

math ii has tests much more advanced concepts than math i, but the curve for math ii is more generous. ive only taken mI and didnt do too well on it, but i took it without ever having studied pre calc or trig, as my school only gives pre calc in senior year. i just took it again having studied pre calc for a semester and thought (hope) it went much better. if you're taking those classes now and doing well i think youd be ready for m ii in the summer. take a practice test and see how well you do.

Math I is just algebra and geometry and II is precal and trig. You'll be set to take it after the year is over.

I recommend the Barron's book. It has really hard problems, but it's worth it, and makes the actual test seem like a joke.

thanks for the help. anyone else?
