Should my sophomore daughter take the Math II now or wait until next year after she's taken AP Calc? She's now taking PreCalc H and has an A.

Thanks

If shes covered all the material in regards to calculus on the Math IIc take it now. She should take it when she's ready. Personally I wish I would have taken it last year (I'm a juinor) because now I am so busy with juinor year things (varsity sports, SAT I, AP's) that I hardly have any time to prepare.

I agree with ballz053- if your daughter is ready, it would be wonderful for her to take the Math II test this year. (I am also currently a junior and very busy studying for AP tests.) Taking the test this year might lighten her load a bit for next year...

As far as relevant material is concerned, the College Board says:
The Mathematics Level 2 Subject Test is designed to assess your understanding of the mathematics commonly taught in high schools in more than three years of college preparatory mathematics (two years of algebra, one year of geometry, and precalculus and/or trigonometry). The test requires knowledge of number and operations, algebra and functions, geometry (coordinate, three dimensional, and trigonometry), and Data Analysis, statistics, and probability. A scientific or graphing calculator is required. The test is developed with the expectation that most students are using graphing calculators.

Additionally, there are several sample questions from the test available at http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/lc_two/math2c/prac/pracStart.html?math2c

Best wishes, and I hope this helps!
