Math IIC Score...

I got a 780 on the math II C that I took in December.........
I'm a junior....

Do you think I should retake? Because I was aiming for a 800...
and everyone else seems to get 800 like its a piece of cake....

I want to double major in economics and psychology

Do you thinkg 780 is good enough???

I want to go to ivy schools...
I haven't taken other sats yet...
but I'm planning to take SAT I in Jan, March
SAT USH in May (I'm currently taking AP USH)
and SAT Chem in June (I'm currently taking AP Chem)

I actually asked a similar question to yours a while back, and the response was this: when colleges see your score, they will also see the score ranges along with it. (It specifically says that on CB’s website too - I checked.) So an 800 would be well within your score range (which is 30-40 points over/under your actual score itself). My score range for a 760 was reported as a 730-790, meaning that a 760 showed that I had around the same ability as a person who scored a 790. 780 is an awesome score! You should be proud of it. I’ve even seen ‘Accepted’ posts in the HYP forums by people who scored below a 780 in Math IIC.

Knowing this has made me happy about my 760, lol!

I think 780 is definitely good enough, especially since you’re not going to be going into math or science. Only retake if you’re sure you can do better! Otherwise, it’s a waste of time when you already had a good score…

& If you look at the December SAT math scores, it doesn’t seem like everyone’s gotten an 800. I think the only reason I got one is because of my preparation and…yeah. I carried a Math II prep book around the week before and it was my bedtime story the night before the test.

I thought Math II C was discontinued and it’s Math II now?

NEVER retake anything 750+for ANY school. it’s just A (minor) factor, not THE factor. i would even hesitate to retake a 700+ if you have another score in 750+ range.
