I have been bad in math my whole life and my major has physics and other mathematics how can I get myself together and find a way to get better at math
what level are you at now?
find ways to make yourself interested in math, look up mathematicians and read some of their biographies, or
know how important math is for science and engineering.
Science is nothing without Math. Even the soft sciences are trying to find a way to incorporate high level mathematics into their subjects, not just statistics. Fact is math is really important, just as important as science.
I take pride in my math classes, as a Chemistry Major. I am a dual major, math and chemistry.
As a Chemistry Major, I’ve only had to take Calculus 2 and Applied Math 1, Instead I took
Calculus 3, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Probability And Stats 1, and I’ll be taking another math class probably Partial Differential Equations or Applied Math 2.
That is just about 16 more credits than I would have needed to take for my Chemistry Degree, but I realize how important math is for science especially Chemistry, and I want to switch my major later to chemical engineering.
I also cannot stop taking math classes, as I love to be able to build up to the next level, etc where as If I stopped taking math classes a year ago I probably would have forgot everything I’ve learned in Calc 2.
If I ever go for a Masters of Ph.d All these math classes I would to have to take anyway.
People who take Physical Chemistry always have a tough time at my school because they never get the experience in the math classes they need to make the class a breeze.
It gets to a point where you take a math class because you know it will be an easy 3 credits. Math doesn’t always get more difficult as you rise up the levels, sometimes it gets easier.
