I know you have to take calculus and statistics but what is the math like in economics classes? I like algebra but despise geometry and trig is okay. I like the ideas in economics but don’t know if I would enjoy the math. Any info is appreciated!
At the introductory level it is just basic arithmetic and algebra. Once you finish the fundamentals, economics uses quite a lot of math - calculus, statistics, possibly probability and computational mathematics, and often mathematical analysis.
Geometry and trigonometry really don’t come up much in economics. It’s mostly calculus and statistics. The theory is derived with calculus and you use statistics to understand data.
