Math Issue

Hi! I’m currently a rising senior. I live in NY and we are required to take regents exams, and some classes require us to take certain exams as a precursor to the next level (at least at my school). For example, in order to move on to pre-calc I need to have taken and passed the Alg 2 Common Core Regents. Unfortunately, the spring of my sophomore year I suffered a terrible concussion, and that led my counselor and my former math teacher to believe I needed to be put in a class without CC my junior year. Because of this I was not able to take the regents and June, and unless I pass the one I’m studying for in August, I will not be able to take pre-calc. I was not made aware at the time they put me in the lower class that it would mean I wouldnt be able to take pre-calc. I’m not dumb by any means and I feel as though I’ve been sort of screwed over by the people that are supposed to be helping me. I realize pre-calc is sort of a must for getting into most colleges, and was just wondering if anyone has any advice. Thanks.

You were well served by the adults who made a decision based on your “terrible concussion” that might well have led to you failing the class if you had taken it your junior year. I wish you the best of luck passing the test in August. You will then be back on track, right? You need to drop this perceived grievance.
