Hello. I am wondering are there any LACs that offer excellent math undergrad programs? I thought all LACs were like English based, until someone showed me Harvey Mudd, which has essentially all Math/Science programs.

there you go. hmc math is exceptional...and i'm not just saying that because i go there.... just look at the MCM competition results the last 10 years (check out 2001!) and the W. Putnam competition results.

Rice, Caltech, Bates, Whitman, Wesleyan, Trinity (CT), Pomona, Bowdoin, Bucknell, Kenyon, Holy Cross, Harvey Mudd, Dickinson, Carleton, Colgate, Reed, Swarthmore, Grinnell, St. Olaf, Bryn Mawr, Union, Lawrence U, and Davidson.

Williams has a fantastic math department and an Oxford-style tutorial program for upper-level classes (two students, one teacher).

*Universities, but LAC-sized.

I think Lehigh is known for engineering, so imagine they would have a more extensive math department, but I'm not positive. Look into any that interest you for any reason and then later investigate as to their math offerings.

yay, harvey mudd is classified as a LAC, but yes, we have only science majors. if you want to do math, we're among the best :) check it out!
