I posted a response above about the inverse and how it is not a reflection over the origin.

OMG UR RIGHT IT IS y=x OMG im soooo stupid ARRRGH stupid mistakes :@

crap, 3 wrong.

If anyone wants to try and estimate the curve, use the results from the June 06 test (same tests)

yes! it is y=x. :)

Omitted four, around six wrong already... eeegh.

anyone remember seeing a l'hopital's? 5?

For the limit question, I just factored out the top term, and canceled a term out, and plugged in the limit.

Would that be a correct method? I don't remember the answer, and I didn't graph or anything, except simplify so that I could plug in the limit value.

the limit problem? it was really basic; you could have solved via factoring.

oh I didn't even think about cancelling >_>

The limit was 5 i think

I got pi/2 for the period of tangent (was this right?)

and then I got I and III for checking the functions

how is it over y=x?
if it is y = x then it could also equal y = -x

for example y = x
inverse is still y = x

and y = -x
x = -y
so y = -x

Yeah, thats what I did! I facotred the term and then cancelled out the denominator. Hope that is correct. I was going to graph it, but it was way simpler the other way.

Classof08, can you explain your reasoning?

For the limit, l'Hospital's could have been used, but factoring would work just as well.

So still no settlement about the reflection thingy?

What was the exact question again?

In any case, you guys might like to know we've passed the Biology thread in number of posts.

Im just saying, for example y = x
then the inverse is also y = x right?

but y = -x the inverse is also y = -x

so why would the answer be reflection over y = x instead of y = -x?

yes it is reflection y=x, becuase your example y=-x is symmetrical about the line y=x

yeah but isnt the line y = x symmetrical about the lin y = -x?
