I took the Math SAT 2 in June and got a 770. I'm debating whether to retake it to try to get an 800. I'm planning on majoring in political science or something liberal arts related...so I don't know how important it is for me to got a perfect on the Math SAT 2. But, everyone around me makes it seem like almost everyone gets an 800, so I'm kind of divided on the issue. Also, I know the College Board recently changed rules so that colleges can only see the scores you submit for the SAT...does this rule hold for the SAT 2 as well?

I'm debating the same thing...I got a 790 (although i'm a rising sophomore). People say that the admission officers don't care too much as long as you get above 750...but I guess its just a matter of pride. If you want to do it just for college you won't necessarily be seen a positive light since you might come off as a perfectionist....

And, yes the new rule applies to the SAT 2's as well

Relax and move on to something else. Anything above a 750 is great and colleges know you can handle the material. You are good to go in Math now so spend your time in other areas.

The percentile isn't as important for the SAT2 as it is for SAT1. Simply because far less people take the SAT2 (and you only take the test you know you will do well on - in general), and those that do are generally far more academically oriented than those that don't.

I got a 780 and I did retake it and got an 800. I'm happy but I feel like I wasted an hour of my life for a test that wasn't necessay at all. Honestly I would advise not to retake it
