Math Level II December 3, 2011 Curve/Discussion

who the hell got higher than a 43 raw.

Ah, here’s one question that’s still in my calculator.
There were two equations: x^4 - 4x + 1, and f(x+2) something about the range of it. y>= -2

there might be some perfect scorers who are just lurking haha

i want to know so we can get a better view on the curve lol

yea starchy, the answer is the range and they intersect at one point which was 2 and 3

number 1 is false and it said that they share a root

i dont think its feasible to get a better idea than 43. the curve is pre-set, CC dosent represent the general population and the sample size will be too small.

Ap Psych =P

Yep, that was it.

Anyways, I hope I didn’t make any other dumb mistakes and it stays at a 43.

Does anyone remember the question involving a trig function and its period?

i put 2 for the period

for the question with symmetry at 3, when x is at -1, y is at -1. So -1 is 4 spaces away from 3, and 7 is also 4 spaces from three. Since the points are symmetrical from x=3, then f(7)= -1

by the end of the day, I’ll try to get the number of questions that we covered from the SAT. Hopefully it will be close to 50.

I’m still trying to remember questions though.

For the -|x| and x < 0 problem, it was - x, not x. Absolute value makes x positive no matter what and the negative is on the outside.

it was given that the original x is negative
so lets say x = -1

-|-1| = -1 = x

so x=x
10 char :D

Yep, agree with physicsboy.

Another question that hasn’t been mentioned is the set of 2 intergers there were relatively prime with “30”. Does that ring a bell?

? not really, can u explain it further?

Yes, the relatively prime one had choices something like 2471, 4345 and not sure about the others…skipped and went back to it with not much time left and I think i went with the 2471 (or something like that)…anyone know if this is right?

It explained that relatively prime meant that there is no integer greather than 1 than divides them both.

I dont think the answer choices were that big ^

was the one where it was like -3,2 reflected over y=-x like D? or C or something?
