I am an incoming college freshman for 2011 and I did not get into business school, so I will be majoring in math. I have always been interested in both finance and math.
I would like to know what a math major can do in IB, and if doing math major is a good choice.

What in IB are you interested in?

IB in general… My personal interests include share trading and such

sounds like “anything at all…and my personal interests include bringing boat-loads of cash home and not to mention living vicariously as Gordon Gekko”
IBanking is a very vast field, I suggest you research into it more before you make any life-changing decision. On the bright side, you can pretty much enter IB from any major but you do have to show a genuine interest in IBanking and aspects of it in particular.

theorem: if you are intelligent and able to hack it (3.6+), math is infinitely better than business as an undergraduate major, especially when combined with some economics and computer science.

otherwise you’re probably better off doing business.

Thanks I surely will do some research!
