Hey all,
so I'm only a junior in high school but am kind of curious about studying math.
At the end of my senior year I will have either completed bc calc or calc 3.
I plan on studying bio and math while doing premed reqs in college (hopefully double major). Would this be too much? I know there is a lot of overlap with bio and premed courses.

If it helps, I'd like to go to either uva cornell or vanderbilt
Thanks in advance

Math + premed should not be too hard to fit in your schedule, especially if you start 2 or 3 semesters ahead in math.

Math + biology may be more difficult to fit together, and may leave less room for other courses you may want to take, although it is likely doable. Check the requirements at each of the schools you are considering.

You don’t have to be a biology major to apply to med school. Major in math and then find out what the med school prereqs are and take those as electives. Biology I and II, chem I and II, organic chem, and physics I (and possibly II).

One thing to check is whether the premed advising at the school you want to attend is offered to non-bio/chem/similar majors.

I know but i’m pretty intrested in bio so I would love to have a significant focus in it. I’m fluent in spanish so depending on where I go i could test out of the foreign language req.

Also, since med school acceptance is so gpa dependant, i would consider starting with calc 1 or 2 first semester for the easy A’s.
